Install the J 44873 1 to the pinion flange 2. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information. Refer to Universal or universal joints Joint Replacement - External Snap Ring in Propeller Shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement in Propeller Shaft. Refer to Lubricant Replacement - Rear Drive Axle.
For a detailed explanation, refer to Strategy Based Diagnosis. A worn axle shaft constant velocity joint may create a clicking, grinding, or snapping type of noise. Tighten: Tighten the plug to 35 N. Refer to Symptoms - Rear Drive Axle. Place the open receiver end of the J 44866 over the flanged side of the bushing and against the vehicle frame.
Tighten: Tighten the bolt and nut to 105 N. All models, and all engines are included. Replace the components as required. Check for the proper fluid level. See Special Tools and Equipment.
Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications. Install the rear stabilizer bar to the vehicle. Install a new filter assembly. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lubricant Replacement - Rear Drive Axle.
Install the receiver end of the J 44866 against the vehicle frame opposite the bushing. See Special Tools and Equipment. Clean the area around the fluid fill plug. The clean, Acura… Saturn's little PreVue crossover has three, not five doors. They will rotate slightly as the driveline winds-up.
See Special Tools and Equipment. Release the accelerator and apply the brakes. Refer to Checking Aftermarket Accessories in Wiring Systems. Secure the vent hose clips 2 to the fuel vent pipe 3. Remove the propeller shaft underbody guard loop bolts. Worn or damages axle shaft Replace the axle shaft oil seals as required. While holding the J 44873 with a breaker bar, loosen the pinion flange nut.
Remove the right rear wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Rear Axle Lubricant Leak Diagnosis. Place a drain pan below the rear drive module. A worn universal joint may create a clicking or snapping type of noise. Raise and support the vehicle so that all wheels are off of the ground. Place the angled end of the wire into the fluid fill plug hole. Install the propeller shaft underbody guard loop.
Check for the proper fluid level. Install the bracket-to-bushing bolt and nut. Using a breaker bar to hold the J 44873 stationary, tighten the pinion nut. See Special Tools and Equipment. Refer to Lubricant Replacement - Rear Drive Axle.
